What Our Patients Say About Us

The Most Respect

I have been to Tk many times and have the up most respect for this facility. I have been on Willow (adult lodge). I suffer from various mental health issues as well as an eating disorder. They have treated me with kindness and compassion in my ups and my lows. Tk is home away from home for me. Yes, it did have some downfalls such as low staffing and the occasional uproar of some residents but overall it’s a great facility. They truly care about you here and put your needs first. The nurses were exceptional and the staff was too. Therapist Brenna and Dr. Silva the lodge director have truly saved my life and changed my perspective on things. I’m so blessed to have spent my time here to heal and focus on my issues head on.

Great Place

Timberline Knolls is a great place to go to get help with both mood and eating disorders. It is a place that if you do the work you will get a lot out of it. If you don't put in the work you won't. The staff on Willow were amazing during my stay and always were trying their best. Dr. Silva always wanted what was best for you even though she can push you to work hard and give you tough love at times. The individual therapist are also willing to work with you where you are at and are also challenging you to do your best. Brenna was always there when I needed her help and always had a book for me to read in my free time. The art therapy and music therapy is amazing and such a relaxing part of your week. I would recommend Timberline Knolls to people who are ready to put in the work in their recovery.

After years of struggling and feeling like death was one of my few options left, I came to Timberline knolls

I was in Timberline knolls residential treatment center for five months last year. I couldn't recommend it enough. I had been to many other treatment centers before with little to no progress. After years of struggling and feeling like death was one of my few options left, I came to Timberline knolls as a last ditch effort to save myself. To my surprise, it didn't just work, it wildly exceeded my wildest dreams. I was at Willow Lodge during my stay and had a great care team. The lodge director (Dr. Silva) was my therapist and I also had a dietician (Tori) for my eating disorder symptoms. They were exactly what I needed and I can honestly say they saved my life. I had been diagnosed with a handful of mental disorders mostly due to a lifetime of trauma and abuse, but I believe the diagnosis that negatively affects me the most are PTSD and autism. My care team was very skilled in treating trauma, exploring the cause of many of my symptoms, and giving the TLC I much needed at that vulnerable time for me. Another thing to note is that it takes a hell of a lot of hard work and willingness for treatment to achieve the results you need. I would personally being there and putting the work in to heal myself was the hardest work I've ever done in my life. I learned that everybody may be at different points in their recovery and my simply not be ready and that's okay too. But it truly takes effort from you and your care team to get the results you are looking for. I also realize there are many reviews that talk about the place being understaffed or the food not being good. It is true that many times the lodges are understaffed and that causes the medication line to be longer or staff not being immediately available to address an issue, but sometimes you need to be little patient and you will usually get the your needs addressed. It is true that most would say some meals don't taste that good too, and that's true, but having autism that causes my extreme pickiness, I can still say that I like 80% of the meals prepared. It's not just cafeteria food either. It's got flavor and a lot of variety. If you still don't want the meal, you can always ask for a pb&j sandwich instead. I would have usually rated four stars for this place but the stellar care I received vastly outweighed the other minor inconveniences I mentioned before. Whether this is your first time in mental health treatment or tenth, this place will give you the best fighting chance at recovery. With all of my time in different treatment centers I'd say that this is one of the best places in the country you can go that actually accepts insurance. If you need a chill place to "press a pause button" on your life and forget about work, family obligations, or even overwhelming daily responsibilities to just focus on your recovery this is a great option to consider.

P.S. - If that's not enough to convince you, then maybe the fact that Demi Lovato and Kesha both stayed here for their mental health struggles and are now better for it.

My daughter (18) stayed at Timberline Knolls from late February to mid-March 2024. She was there a total of 3.5 weeks for mental health. We were referred to TK by friends who had also sent their daughters there and had a good experience. Like many people, I was deeply concerned by some of the Google reviews I read about TK, so I compiled a list of questions and emailed the CEO. She called me and my daughter the next day to address each of our concerns, which I appreciated. While that phone call didn’t eliminate all of my worries, it gave me peace to move forward with admissions. The admissions process took longer than expected because of complications with our insurance. Soraya, the Director of Admissions, was phenomenal. She went to bat for us with our insurance and she spent a lot of time making phone calls on our behalf. I am very grateful to her. During intake, one of my daughter’s perscriptions was not allowed in the facility because it was compounded, and didn’t have a symbol on the outside of the pill to identify it. They had to order a new script from their pharmacy instead. They also didn’t allow my daughter to bring in ibuprofen (must be given via nurse) or activated charcoal (might be too binding), even though they were in brand new, unopened bottles. While I understand the why behind each of these things, I wish they would expand upon what supplements are not allowed, and give more instruction about compounded perscriptions on their packing list. The packing list also listed a $50 Visa gift card that we went out of our way to get - only to find it wasn’t needed. I can’t thank the staff of Willow Lodge for taking such amazing care of our daughter. When she called us while at TK, she would tell us how kind the staff were (John, Eric, Hailey, and Kelly to name a few). But it is because of Dr. Silva specifically, and her therapy sessions, that we got the breakthrough for our daughter that we’ve been praying years for. Dr. Silva was able to do in 3.5 weeks what our local therapists failed to do in 2.5 years. She has a God-given gift and we’ve truly been blessed by her and the work she does. She’s caring, compassionate, but also doesn’t put up with bad behavior from her residents. Anytime you have a group of people (mental illnesses or not), there will be drama. No facility is going to be perfect. The TK staff do their absolute best to control/handle situations. Was my daughter’s stay perfect? No, but she came out better than when she went in. For us, it made a big difference.
