Sundown M Ranch – Yakima

I went here, not really by my own volition, but because I really hit rock bottom (again) and lost my job and my apartment, and my license was suspended for something else. Didn't want to go, but figured it was really my only option. Insurance aid for it, so at the least I could get a place to live for 28 days. I had no idea what to expect and my anxiety was running wild. I was put into a group I was very uncomfortable in, and didn't like my counselor. I almost got kicked out for not wanting to participate in anything. After about 4 days, I met one of the older members, called 'Silverbacks'. Ended up talking to him more than I talked at all since I got there. I had the idea to ask the front desk if I could join their group instead. After a few hiccups, it worked! From then on, I was really enjoying the experience. Worst part of the whole thing was having to get up on stage and do skits every weekend. That, and there's always a few patients that don't take it seriously and disrupt things every chance they get. I ended up staying an extra week because I still needed a place to live and stuff. Worked out great! By the time I left I had a place, I had my license back, and I even had money from Paid Medical Leave! I've seen bad reviews for this place. I kind of understand. If I couldn't switch groups I would hate this place. As long as you're sincere, they seem to accommodate patients to the best of their ability. All of the staff is really nice, and most are former patients at Sundown. Lots of knowledge and understanding from them. Great food too! I would really recommend this place, even if you don't really want to quit doing what you're doing. It's a really good experience, and just keep in mind, literally nobody wants to be there the first few days, even if you're looking forward to it. It's structured, there's no phones or anything allowed, but you get used to it. Lots of time and people to help you remember the good things about yourself, and to get that physical and mental feeling of contentment back that goes missing after using/drinking so long.

Wonderful program at a beautiful place. I would highly recommend this treatment center to anyone. I gained so much including myself back. An extra big shout out to Barb and Michael my inpatient and IOP counselors. You guys are amazing and helped bring me back to me. I’ll always remember your part in my first few steps on the recovery road. Also the food is great. The staff is friendly. I was well taken care of and was given time to really focus on myself and getting better. I thank all the staff members from admissions to laundry to cleaning to house managers to counselors to all that make that place run efficiently. 🤍🤍🤍
