What Our Patients Say About Us
Reviews
Whether you are a 1st time treatment/detox seeker or have relapsed and are searching for a new facility, this is your place. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond for the patients. This was my one and hopefully only experience, but I am incredibly grateful that I chose Retreat (New Haven). My therapist was PHENOMENAL! If you are willing to do the work, commit to yourself that YOU are worth the time & energy needed that it takes to truly recover, and remain sober then I highly recommend you give Retreat a try. It is a welcoming community and hopefully you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was about the services available, especially if you are a first responder or an active duty/veteran service member.
This place is life saving and life changing. I've been to a million different places and this is by far one of the nicest facilities I've ever gone. Between the staff, the nurses, the food, the cleanliness, just overall care - you get hope. You go there hopeless and leave with not only knowledge, skills, and ability, but tools and a plan. There's many places that don't treat you as human beings, but at Retreat you are treated with Grace, respect, understanding, and as an individual. The majority of the staff do their best to not only make sure you're comfortable but go beyond that and make sure you get a sense of "yourself" again. The nursing staff is BEYOND amazing, I can not express how wonderful they are, and truth be told, with what they deal with, they are so phenomenal. They do their best to make sure you are always comfortable, which is something you don't get anywhere else. 10/10 I would send anyone looking for mental health/behavioral health, addiction treatment, or whatever - this, this is your place. This is your break, this is your safe space.
I had a great experience at Retreat Behavioral Health. The staff was very helpful and understanding throughout my time there. I had a caring therapist, and loved going to groups with all of the other therapists on the team as well. The facility was clean and the food was good for the most part and if I didn't like what was on the menu the salad bar was always a good option. The most important thing I learned was how to live a happy, healthy, and sober life! I would be remiss not to mention one special person on the staff, Gordy, the "Alumni Guy"! Gordy facilitates groups, brings in Retreat alumni to speak at the Saturday night AA meeting and he hosts two alumni meetings during the week. Additionally, he organizes alumni events all around the state for anyone to join in and have fun! It is so important to remember as we travel on this journey and make so many changes in the way we used to live, that we now have the opportunity to be free and enjoy life!! I am grateful to everyone at Retreat for putting me on the path to recovery and to Gordy and the alumni for keeping me on that path while living a purposeful life!
I love this place.
I came here 2 years ago for one addiction,
Unfortunately I replaced it with different one, but I knew I HAD to return.
It's like a resort. They take complete care of you. COMPLETE CARE so that patients like myself could focus totally on our recovery.
Everyone in there, like I was, have a chance to press 'reset' on our lives.
They also teach you that once I'm out of here, they provided all the tools for me to stay sober.... now it's up to me to apply them.
And don't let me get started on their kitchen & housekeeping staff.
I asked their head chef for specific dish and if they made it? He replied, "No, but let me see what I can do,"
This was on a Tuesday.
THAT Friday we were ALL eating that dish.
(Can't say what it was.......just in case)
Their servers were always nice and polite to me.
Their housekeeping staff were always smiling at us.
I can go on & on.
I would give it 10☆ if they had that option.
I went in 'Lost', walked out going 'Back Home'.
I miss them.
I made friends there that became family.
Thank you guys!!!!
