About North Star Transitions
NorthStar Transitions empowers people to navigate real life recovery. On top of our comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma informed care curriculum, we focus experientially and somatically to teach clients how to disrupt their reflexive pattern of behavior, moving them beyond their addiction. Disrupting this pattern enables us to work through stuck traumas and co-occurring disorders, and gives our clients tangible skills to create response instead of their ingrained reaction.

What Our Patients Say About Us
Reviews
Peter is so kind and welcoming. Peter went above and beyond to patiently educate me about insurance, explain the features of the program, amd provide continuous support in whatever way I needed it! Thank you Peter for giving your time and kindness to each particpant you work with!
I can't say enough good things about this organization and the people that work here. Coming up on 2 months of sobriety, I can honestly say I would not be here without the amazing staff and therapists at NorthStar.
I want to give a huge shout out to Sean who worked with me in helping me identify my triggers and to create a plan for my future.
I could write a review a mile long if I started naming all the great staff at the lodge, but I'll keep it to this: from the AM staff to the PM staff, every single person there is invested in supporting you on your journey, and they truly 'get it.' From laughter to serious moments, they facilitated the perfect healing environment for me.
KW was also very influential in my healing.
The staff are some of the most knowledgeable and welcoming people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. During the entire process of residential and IOP they gave myself and the other clients the utmost support and respect possible. The residential care facility and staff are among the best in the country and couldn't possibly offer a better experience or care. If you are struggling with addiction issues I would highly recommend the NorthStar facility and also their treatment team.
NorthStar Transitions is truly a pillar of treatment in Colorado. At Sandstone Care we often utilize their gender specific residential care which combines an innovative clinical program with a serene and therapeutic living environment. Their longstanding clinical director created a program which supports the client in both mind and body. They have great accessibility, taking most major insurance options and providing a streamlined admissions process. As one of the referral coordinators for Sandstone Care, I have been impressed with the ease of getting individuals into treatment with them. We respect and rely on the services that NorthStar Transitions offers.
My inpatient stay was amazing. I love all the counselors and the fact that they all are also in recovery made my experience even better in connecting with them. The location is beautiful and having a smaller group makes it feel like a family. My stay got cut short due to getting covid, but other than that I really enjoyed my time here.
