What Our Patients Say About Us
Reviews
There are chapters of my life I don’t revisit often.
Not because I’ve forgotten them, but because I remember them so clearly.
Lumiere Healing Center sits in one of those chapters.
Recovery wasn’t a single decision for me. It was a thousand decisions, some brave, some reluctant, some made one shaky day at a time. My path brought me through Lumiere more than once, and looking back now, I’m grateful it did.
What I found there wasn’t perfection. It was people. Real people who looked beyond the addiction, beyond the mistakes, beyond the story I was carrying about myself. They saw a human being who was still worth saving, even when I wasn’t entirely convinced of it.
The staff offered something that can’t be measured on a brochure or a website: hope. Not the loud, flashy kind. The quiet kind. The kind that sits beside you when your life feels broken and whispers, “Let’s try again tomorrow.”
Today, I have a life that feels honest. I have peace I once thought belonged to other people. I laugh more. I sleep better. I believe in the future again. Recovery gave me those gifts, but Lumiere was one of the places where the foundation was poured.
If you’re reading this because you’re struggling, or because someone you love is, please hear me: your story is not over. There is still another chapter waiting to be written.
Thank you, Lumiere, for helping me find the courage to turn the page.
I don’t usually write reviews, but Lumiere Healing Centers is something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.
Before May 2024, I was living alone in a trailer in the middle of nowhere in Kentucky. I was depressed, suicidal, and stuck in a cycle of drinking and smoking every night just to fall asleep and shut everything off. That was my life.
Everything changed the day I made the call.
Lumiere admitted me and I spent 10 days in detox before being invited into their 30-day residential program. From day one, I felt something different. The facility was clean, structured, and safe. The staff, the BHTs, nurses, and counselors, genuinely cared. And I have to shout out Chef Laura, whose meals somehow made even the hardest days a little better.
But what really stood out was the camaraderie. The connections you build with other people going through the same battle… that’s something you can’t replicate.
When I left, I was being pushed toward a halfway house, but I knew I needed a different path. I asked my mom to take a chance on me, and she did.
Since then, everything has changed.
I got a job at Kroger delivering groceries. I met an incredible woman, Alexis, and now we have two kids together. We’ve got a dog named Zuko, a cat named Kitty, our own 2-bedroom apartment, and I pay my own bills. I’ve got my own vehicle. A real life.
It’s not perfect, nothing ever is, but when I look at where I came from compared to where I am now, I’m beyond grateful.
And I know for a fact I wouldn’t be here without Lumiere.
They give you the tools. They give you the support. They give you a real chance.
What you do with it is up to you.
I’ll forever be thankful for this place.
I am a graduate and cannot say enough about the quality of care and dedication of the staff. Excellent recovery enrichment. The facility and food are top notch. They have exactly what is needed for an entire life changing experience. I have a totally different view on the outcome of my life. Thank you to all involved from the bottom of my heart. Russ W
My dad is over a year sober!! So thankful for the people that work here. He told me about how a lot of the staff had relatable stories to him. It was so difficult taking him to doctor’s appointments or getting help in general knowing how harshly he was being judged. He didn’t feel that way at all here. I think he found comfort in knowing that they have been in his shoes. I’ll never stop recommending this place. The staff here deserve the world. 💕
I went to Lumiere Healing Center in West Chester- seeking desperate help to overcome my addiction to alcohol. I had a very good experience at Lumire. I stayed at Lumire for treatment which was a little over 1 month long. I left with much needed sobriety under my belt - along with feeling at peace with myself. I left feeling stronger, and able to re-enter the world using my gained “tools” to keep up the pace of no longer drinking. I currently am continuing outpatient treatment with Lumiere along with consistently engaging in the Fellowship of AA. I’m thankful to be sober- I feel better in control of my life and feel very good about that! Life is better without the agony of addiction pulling you down. No question about that!
