What Our Patients Say About Us
Reviews
Lincoln Recovery was a great experience. There are several aspects of Lincoln that are awesome. The group facilitators are amazing. Each one truly cares about the clients. The therapists and addiction counselors are great too. Each one takes the time to listen and care. The in-house, peer-led AA/NA meetings are so great. The meetings allow the clients. To get acclimated to how the meetings work so that when we discharge and attend meetings we are not intimidated. The meetings offer a safe place to process any issues that we may be having. The BHTs are wonderful and caring. Most of the staff is in recovery which helps a lot for clients because they can empathize with their clients. The nursing staff are all friendly and caring. Rick is the best because he is fun and also plays the guitar with/for clients.
Issues that I experienced during my time there are as follows:
I felt that all of the administrative staff could be more friendly and involved with clients. There are several administrative staff that walk past clients without even acknowledging clients.
Organized activities in the facility would be beneficial for clients as we learn to have fun and socialize without our drug of choice.
The food is good but very heavy and high in calories. The desserts by Alice are awesome. Cody is the most friendly and amazing cook on staff!
The facility could use some more cleaning. The group rooms often have food in and under the couches. There are several couches that are broken and need to be replaced. The bedrooms need to be deep cleaned because behind the dresser and side table there was dirt and a dirty tissue. The stairs are often dirty.
The printer in the business center was broken for the 80 days I was there. Also, only one computer was working.
The Sunday groups are too much for clients. Clients need a day of rest and the ability to do other necessities that are usually unable to be done on other days of the week.
More positives:
Ability to keep/use phones and computers which allow clients to be able to stay in contact with family and friends. It also allows clients to continue working outside of group times.
There is an alumni group but I haven’t tried it yet.
The aftercare planning is beneficial.
Outside/off facility activities are fun and give clients exposure therapy.
The housekeeping staff are all very kind.
Most important for clients is to do the work and attend the extra meetings. It works if you work it. Engage in the groups, it will help. Be open and honest with your therapist, counselor, facilitators, and medical provider. They cannot help you in your recovery if you are not open, honest, and vulnerable. Advocate for yourself. There is always someone to talk to. Engage with other clients especially because addicts are often used to isolation and we are given the opportunity to make friends, attend extra meetings, have fun without needing our drug of choice, and find ourselves! Always remember: One Day At A Time!
Oh this place saved my life and they were respectful. Treated me with kindness like a human being. If they hadn't treated me with respect I would have walked out the door in 5 like I did ever other rehab. I have my life back after 18 years of addiction. These people are the real deal if I had gone there first I wouldn't have spent 18 years in addiction.
I absolutely found my stay at Lincoln Recovery to be so helpful. I never felt better! All the staff from admissions to the cooks were great! The facilitators and counselors truly care about every client. The facility is clean and so comfortable. I met so many great people! You get to have your phone, participate on outings, see your family every Sunday, and even get your nails done. After leaving you will actually miss your daily life at Lincoln. I have learned so many coping skills to move forward with my life. When I first was confronted by my family that they thought I needed to go to Lincoln I did not think I wanted to. I am so thankful they talked me into going. I can’t think of anything better I could have done to get my life back on track. My counselor Sue was the most compassionate down to earth person I have ever met. A few of the facilitators even go out of their way to be sure you are on the right path. Thr BHT’s are all so kind and you can also tell they have compassion for every client. I would give Lincoln 10 out of 10 stars. Thank you Lincoln for changing my life!
I arrived at Lincoln Recovery a broken man. I had developed a drinking problem that I could not conquer on my own, and I had to reach out to professionals for support.
The term "professional" is an understatement for the Lincoln Recovery staff and does not do them justice. The staff always treated with love and respect throughout the course of my treatment. As this was my first time in recovery, I didn’t know how much being treated like an adult rather than a prisoner truly means. That is until I heard some of the horror stories other patients had from previous facilities. Lincoln Recovery has their head on straight and their priorities in order. Their staff was always willing to lend an ear when I needed to talk, to provide council when my path was covered in fog, and to give a hug when I needed support. Their team of Therapists provide a wealth of experience and a variety of therapy styles. Each patient is unique, and this allowed them to ensure that they have something that would speak to everyone. Some, such as myself, found the Yoga and Mindful Meditation sessions to be extremely helpful. Others found the lively group therapy sessions to be what helped them the most. There was something for everyone, and the Executive Director was always willing to accept advise on what else they could be doing to support me and my peers.
The food provided… Cannot be described with sufficient glory to fully encapsulate its divine splendor. The Kitchen Staff knows their way around seasoning, flavor, and variety. I had to rapidly develop willpower just to prevent myself from returning home 20 pounds heavier than I arrived. Jokes aside, I don’t believe I’ve ever eaten this well for such an extent of time before in my life. Leaving these gourmet meals behind was one of the hardest decisions of my life.
The facility itself was immaculate, far larger and more accommodating than I had pictured in my mind. It felt more like I was staying in a 4 star resort rather than a recovery center. The lake, the pool, the pool table, the exercise equipment… all played a pivotal role in my recovery. The group outings were a blast, and helped prepare me for reintegration in to the real world.
Lincoln Recovery provided me with knowledge and understanding of my addiction as well as the tools to combat it going forward. I have a greater understanding of myself than I have ever experienced before in my life. They helped restore my sense of pride and self-worth. Sometimes we need help, and Lincoln Recovery knows how to provide it.
