What Our Patients Say About Us

I went through Jaywalker Lodge about 4 years back and was blown away by the experience I had there. I had struggled with addiction for 15 plus years at that point and had made many attempts to get sober by admitting to treatment centers all over the United States. My experience at Jaywalker lodge was unmatched. From the clinical care to the adventure program, I was engaged from day one. The thing that made my experience long lasting and is still a huge part of my life in recovery is the community that Jaywalker has created. I still to this day attend Alumni dinners and get the opportunity to share my experience with current clients.

Hi! My name is Jay, and I attended Jaywalker Lodge starting in February of 2023 for severe alcohol and drug addiction. I'm now approaching 10 months of sobriety. I was living on the edge of death, and I have found an abundance of joy and a NEW LIFE thanks to this program. During my stay in the Lodge, I worked through a wide variety of past trauma with the help of experienced counselors and therapists. They enabled me to become engaged with the local recovery community every day through meetings, activities, and meaningful service opportunities. I ended up staying for 8 months, doing each the Lodge, Solutions, and Sober Living programs. All of them were incredibly helpful for me and allowed me to ease my way back into life on my own. I've left my old life behind entirely, and have relocated permanently to the area so that I can stay connected to this amazing community and to help others through their recovery. I would sincerely recommend anyone who needs help to attend this program and to engage and trust the process. I did, and I'm now living an entirely new life in recovery where I find new meaning and purpose in every waking moment. I truly mean that. If it can work for me, I know that it can also work for anyone else. I will be forever grateful for the life that Jaywalker showed me, and I hope that other struggling souls have the chance to witness the same life-changing experience that I did. Thank you, Jaywalker, for saving my life.

My name is Andrew West, and I have struggled with addiction for a little while. I have been to Muir Woods, Higher Plane twice in Austin, Brazos, Chapter House, and the Foundry, as well as a bunch of outpatients. Since going through Jaywalker, I have maintained over 13 months of sobriety. The only reason I’ve been able to achieve this is due to the Jaywalker community and connections to the program. I currently reside in Carbondale, close to Jaywalker, and attend one meeting per week, along with having a sponsor and a sponsee. I’m sending this message to let others know how beneficial the Jaywalker program is.

Best program out there! I very highly recommend . Jaywalker Lodge gave me my life back & Jaywalker showed me how to enjoy a life in Sobriety. Their clinical team is fantastic & I made lifelong friends & lifelong memories thanks to Jaywalker Lodge. Most importantly I learned how to work a 12 Step Program. The groups are very helpful, & you will find that there are plenty of others that can relate to you & your struggles with Addiction. I am extremely grateful for all the opportunities that Jaywalker provided me to get my life back on track. Jaywalker, their staff, & alumni are like family to me! You will find that their program is like no other & truly is the best.

Jaywalker Lodge was a one of a kind experience. As an alumni its the best time I never want to have again. From the activities to the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual work, the staff and clinical team create an environment of appreciation and value and combine it with practical life in the great Colorado outdoors. For me, it was such an eye opener to how small my little bubble had become, and made me realize how much I had taken the little things for granted. This place was an amazing wake up call that saved my life, and for any people or families struggling know that you can count on Jaywalker to do the same.

Watching our son struggle was one of the most difficult things to experience. We learned about Jaywalker and their program for young men. KC Gooding, from Jaywalker, was instrumental in talking with us and our son reassuring us this was the right program for our son. The moment we arrived to Jaywalker we knew our son would be safe surrounded by the welcoming and professional staff. His peers were engaging and encouraging. While our son was working his program we worked with Jaywalker’s family counselor and participated in weekly group meetings via zoom. Our son has learned the tools to build confidence and take responsibility for rebuilding his life. The support our son received from the Jaywalker staff, his Jaywalker peers and the Carbondale community have been a Godsend. Parents of a Jaywalker Alum from 2025

This was a once in a lifetime experience I never would in a million years have expected I would have and love. Yes it’s a rehab and is a big commitment, most notably the financial aspect. Yet it was totally worth the investment both in terms of all the money me and my family spent for me to go through yet even more so the time. I had gone to one treatment center before I ended up doing Jaywalker just over a year ago. The difference was I really felt the love and support from pretty much everyone involved with Jaywalker from the time that I toured throughout my stay. This is for me the most important part of what speaks volumes about Jaywalker. From the staff to the alumni program to the guys I went through with it doesn’t get much better. All I have to say really is if you give yourself over to the program and allow it to work it can prove life changing. I was beyond lucky that I happened to have grown up and still be living in the Aspen area where Jaywalker is located. I am forever grateful that I finally came to terms with my addiction and got myself checked in and stuck with it. I never gave sobriety a real thought whatsoever until my life blew up in my face. Over sixteen months later having stuck with it my life is so much better than I could have imagined and it’s all thanks to Jaywalker. The biggest thing I would say about Jaywalker is if you do it and get through your time you’ll be a part of an amazing alumni program that for me is like an extended family of mine. So many of these guys for me are like brothers at this point and it would have never happened had I not just grown the hell up and confronted my problems. I could rave all day long about Jaywalker suffice it to say I highly recommend it.

I had been to good treatment centers that provided an adequate 12-step and clinical education before. The difference with Jaywalker was the community I have been able to establish. Where other places showed me the ropes and threw me back into a city, Jaywalker gave me a foundation to maintain my recovery. Jaywalker also made the fun side of recovery available to me through numerous activities and expeditions. This was imperative because in the past I would get sober and sit around thinking my life was over. Here I learned that my life had just begun. I cannot stress enough how crucial getting involved has been for me though. Jaywalker provides opportunities, but it was still up to me to take action in my recovery.
