What Our Patients Say About Us
Reviews
I am an interventionist and consultant who helps families find appropriate treatment options for their loved ones. All of the clients I have placed at Jaywalker have had an excellent experience and have grown significantly throughout their time there. Their treatment approach is clinically sophisticated, and also acknowledges that treatment is only a small piece of the puzzle in regards to a lifetime of recovery. That is why they focus so much attention on community integration, which research indicates is what really results in long term change.
Carbondale offers a rich recovery community, and Jaywalker is very much at the heart of that community. If your loved one is in need of great clinical work, meaningful experiences in recovery, and a strong and supportive community. Jaywalker would be an excellent option.
I originally contacted Jaywalker Lodge for my Father in Law. I sent a request for information on their website around 9pm on a Saturday night and heard back from a staff member by 9AM Sunday morning. I spoke to Geoff on the phone that day and found out that my FIL would not be a good fit due to his age, though my brother in law would fit in well. My BIL has struggled with alcohol for years and recently began drinking heavily after being sober for ~a year. Geoff thoroughly explained the program, what the day to day would be like, the admission process and next steps should we decide to move forward with admissions. He spoke to my BIL over the phone a few days later, after which our family agreed it would be a good fit. My BIL was required to detox prior to being admitted to Jaywalker and they helped us find a great facility near Denver that provided genuine care and support for him during a very difficult time.
Geoff answered tons of questions from me and my step mother in law, talked to us on the phone, responded to texts at all hours and sent emails with program details. We are so grateful for the communication, the guidance and transparency that Jaywalker has provided.
Upon arrival, Geoff gave us a thorough tour of Jaywalker and the campus is truly impressive. There are multiple buildings on Main Street which does not make it feel like you are at a treatment facility and being locked away. There are so many activities and things to keep them busy including hiking, biking, rafting, trips to the movies, board games, a massive library, etc. on top of the individual and group therapy sessions they are required to participate in. They encourage everyone to interact with each other instead of isolating themselves and they stress the importance of community.
Overall, this experience has been very challenging for our family but the staff at Jaywalker has made this process easier to navigate. My BIL is settling in at Jaywalker and we truly feel he is in great hands.
As a treatment professional who has spent years walking alongside individuals and programs in this field, I can say with absolute confidence that Jaywalker Lodge is one of the most heart-centered, integrity-driven, and clinically sound programs I’ve had the privilege to work with.
Their team operates with a rare blend of humility and excellence—grounded in personal recovery, deeply attuned to clinical best practices, and unshakably committed to their mission of helping men rebuild meaningful lives.
Jaywalker is more than a treatment center—it’s a community. You can feel it the moment you step on campus. The staff meet clients with truth, compassion, and accountability, creating a space where real transformation can take root.
I’ve had the honor of referring to Jaywalker and collaborating with their team for years, and every interaction has reinforced my respect for the work they do. If you’re looking for a place where men are truly seen, challenged, and supported to grow—Jaywalker Lodge is that place.
I am a family consultant and interventionist. Although I have been aware of Jaywalker Lodge for many years, I recently had a chance to tour their facilities and see it up close. It is truly amazing, and I will continue to refer clinically appropriate clients there. It is a unique resource in our larger recovery community. Bravo to them and their team of committed professionals!
I think it's only fair to start by acknowledging that I'm a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Kentucky. But that should also give some context to my review of Jaywalker Lodge. My brother-in-law was struggling with maintaining his sobriety after multiple attempts at treatment. He was relapsing over and over and his consequence were piling up. His family asked me where we could get him the quality help that he needed.
I recommended Jaywalker Lodge because of how thorough their treatment program is. They used a treatment approach that recognized the substance use was just a symptom of an underlying problem. They helped my brother-in-law deal with issues such as loneliness/isolation, grief, poor self-esteem, guilt, and shame that motivated him to use. They also offered the services to address the family issues that enabled his usage.
It has been a joy to watch my brother-in-law reclaim his life, find direction, set goals, and thrive. I'm proud to look at him now and know (with confidence) that he leads a life guided by his values. We are all grateful to have him back in our lives with over 2 years of recovery! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jaywalker Lodge to any other family that wants to get their loved one the help they deserve.
