I was barely hanging on to life before I went through impact. When I was unable to help myself, the staff went well out of their way to make sure I got the help I needed from their program and beyond it.
As someone who had never even considered recovery or even the 12 steps, they made me feel like I was still exactly where I needed to be - and I was. The staff is a collection of role models for how to live life. They all had something I had been missing my entire life and helped me achieve that.
If you’re new to the recovery process or just feel lost in the cycle of alcoholism or addiction I couldn’t recommend calling Josh or Adam’s from Impact enough. There’s a good chance picking up the phone and talking to them will save your life, it certainly saved mine. Recovery is an uncomfortable process, but the guys there helped guide me day by day to get through it. The environment there is extremely positive with great counseling, food, and extra curricular activities as a bonus. It’s a beautiful place to learn how to really live life and I’m eternally grateful for all of them!
In 2018 I went to a rehab for the first time and left without really grasping the message behind the 12 steps. After struggling to recover my own way for 6 years, I realized it wasn't working. I finally got in touch with Adams and I could tell he had something I could get on board with.
Nervous and afraid of what I was getting myself into, I got on a plane to Alabama to check into Impact recovery. When I landed in Birmingham, Adams was right there to greet me at the airport, which showed how much he truly cares. I was driven to the facility by a member of his staff and greeted by other residents upon my arrival. The residents assured me that I was in a good place, and took me in with open arms. After no more than a week, I felt completely comfortable and was immersed in the 12 steps of recovery. Rehab is never easy, but Impact has a way of challenging you to be the best version of yourself, not only for your family/friends, but for YOU.
Through the ups and downs of growth, I found myself healing, and adopting a completely new and positive perspective on life. For the first time in a long time I found a sense of happiness, I truly did not believe I would ever feel. I met great friends and mentors, who I now trust with my life.
I came to Impact to recover from my addiction to alcohol. I had no idea I would be leaving here not only recovered, but as happy as I've ever been in my entire life.
Impact saved my life. Thank you!
Impact is a place of intentionality in all decisions. It’s a place to get well and to experience what it really means to live a better life. After having gone through multiple treatment centers I was at my with-ends. I told the admissions line this was my last hoorah and they understood. They put everything they had into giving me the tools to live free from substance abuse disorder. I was told one day we want to give you some direction in life as my mentor said. I feel that I have received that direction and I just hit another mile stone in sobriety. Impact is the greater good of men doing the will of God. It saved my life, it can save yours too.
As a family member of someone who was supported by Impact, I can not say enough great things. I had the privilege of attending family day for my brother and was impressed by the knowledge of the staff, the rigidness of the program, and the accountability of the participants. The continued support and outreach we have received by the staff has been stellar and majorly contributes to our families continued success in supporting his sobriety. Addiction is a lifelong affliction, but with the proper tools, support system, and dedication to the program, success is within reach. Thank you Impact and all you continue to do for us.
Impact goes above and beyond for the clients that come through their doors. They meet clients where they're at but encourage them not to sit in that place for too long. There is no Recovery Center is the Southeast region that is providing men the tools needed for long term sobriety like Impact. The groups are broken off into small units of 3-4 clients in each group which makes it feel personal and individualized. The owner, Adams, as busy as he is, is ALWAYS on campus on Mondays facilitating step 1 groups. Shawn, the Culinary Expert has moved mountains to ensure every client receives a quality meal that meets their dietary needs. If you're struggling with trauma, grief, loss, or clinical depression, you will be able to work with Dana and Kathleen in a therapeutic role. They will meet with you multiple times per week so you get what you need.
Their Executive Director, Chad Lentscher, is one of the humblest men I've ever met. He has put together a rockstar team.
I could go on and on but if you or someone you know is struggling with alcoholism or addiction. Call Adams Pritchard and Josh Dikis and they will do whatever they can to get you in and present you with a second chance at life.
Thanks for all you do Impact!
