Harris House saved my life!! I sought treatment there in 2013 and achieved 7 years of continuous sobriety. When my mother died, I relapsed. I tried to get sober on my own but failed. I returned to Harris House in 2025. I went through the 28-day inpatient program in Saint Charles and transitioned to South Broadway. Many of the people who helped me in 2013 were still working there, which really speaks volumes about the kind of organization it is. They treated me like family. They welcomed me back and helped me overcome my terrible addiction. I was treated with love, dignity, and respect. They provided round-the-clock medical care with a psychiatrist and several experienced and qualified psychiatric nurse practitioners on site. The counselors and clinicians there are all qualified professionals with experience in addiction treatment. The kind, compassionate nurse practitioners, counselors, staff, and administration at Harris House helped me achieve sobriety again and put me back on the road to live my life in happy, contented sobriety. My heart is filled with gratitude for the wonderful people there. I have so many friends who are sober alumni from Harris House. Many of my friends have decades of sobriety after being at Harris House. If you are looking for the best alcohol and addiction treatment center you can find anywhere, and I mean anywhere, I highly recommend Harris House. Men and women from across the country travel to Saint Louis just to receive treatment at Harris House. We are so lucky to have them here in Saint Louis. Unlike other treatment centers, they are not profit-motivated. Many members of the management, counselors, and staff are in recovery themselves. They know what they are doing and they really care about every client. The organization, program, and management are top-notch. They provide personal care and compassion while staying up to date on the latest evidence-based addiction treatment. They set the standard by which all treatment centers should abide. Personally, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Wes, Lucy, Frank, Mama Dee, Natalie, Johnathan, Garrison, Jackie, Jamie, and Chris for everything you did to help me. You guys are the best! Thank you so much! You changed my life. :-)
Truly an amazing place. Full of people who really care for you and have saved countless lives. This isn't a place that is driven by profit. Their goal is to selflessly give you the tools to achieve a life we never thought possible. Liz is an amazing person, she always gave me hope, confidence and tools to achieve a better life. Thank you Liz! Wes is the glue that holds this amazing place together. The lives you alone have saved is astounding. Thank you Wes! Can't say enough about this place and all the amazing staff!
First off, this is my first time doing inpatient treatment. I was impressed with Harris House immediately. From getting all setup, the staff interactions, the thorough and organized registration process, fellow clients passing by and smiling... I knew I made the right choice for myself.
I will be eternally humbled and grateful for the friendships I made while there, and all of the support from staff as well.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. The counselors, monitors, everyone was so kind and genuinely cared. The facility was beautiful and comfortable. The classes were the best part, so informative and the counselors who taught them were passionate. You keep your phone, vape, cigarettes if that’s your thing and are allowed to go outside any time you want. You aren’t treated like a prisoner. Their motto is your an adult and are expected to act like one, hence the freedom they give you. Simple as that. If you want to leave the gate will open. You will not be harassed. Thankfully, the majority of clients there have a desire to be sober and take it very seriously. Also the food was too good!
P.S. shout out my girl counselor Ginny!! She’s an angel.
