The Detox Center

What Our Patients Say About Us

I can’t rave about this place enough. I came to Desert Hope seeking detox and treatment for alcohol. They got me on a plane from Phoenix same day and made me feel right at home. They were friendly, transparent, and thorough through the admissions process.

By the time you get to your room, your belongings are searched, then you are taken into the hands of the caring nursing staff. Detox is exhausting and overwhelming but the nurses check in on you constantly which gives you a huge sense of relief. You are stripped of electronic devices for 72 hours but there is a community phone near the nurses station to keep in touch with loved ones.

The kitchen staff is amazing! They accommodated to my vegetarian/vegan diet once I communicated it to the nurses. I couldn’t have survived all those weeks without their efforts, I am so grateful for them!

The TA’s are respectful and full of personality! They are there to make sure you’re safe and where you’re supposed to be. They have zero tolerance for rule violations so if you want to be on their good side, follow the rules! I miss them!

The cleaning staff works so obviously hard to keep everything clean, so be mindful of your trash!

You get what you put into the program. Some people enter the program thinking someone else can fix them. You are there to learn the tools and do the work. The groups are designed to understand your relationship with addiction. There is a copious amount of knowledge you have at your disposal from brain chemistry, processing emotions, nutrition, relapse prevention, time management, and so much more. If you’re here to get sober and stay sober then you’ll want to soak up everything for what it’s worth. I love that they balance the groups with mandatory recreational time on Saturdays and Sundays when you can’t post up in your room. Instead, you have to spend time in the art room, gym, watch a movie, play competitive ping pong, or go outside for volley ball, basketball, or laps around the facility.

Not all the groups are so serious, they also incorporate social games and activities that remind you of how fun sobriety is. I appreciated the balance of mental, emotional, and social practices I got to experience. Hands-on participation becomes imperative skills that transfer into your real life to help you be successful. Not to mention, the friendships you gain attending these groups. You will meet people you never dreamed of with similar struggles as you. You leave rehab with a support group like no other! I talk to most of them every single day!

I am eternally grateful for Desert Hope. It opened up my eyes to my independence, my choices, and my desire to live. I’m so thrilled that my experience has inspired my brother to admit himself there as well. I highly recommend any out of state folks because they will do what they can to pluck you out of your triggering environment and take the best care of you if you’re serious about your sobriety.

Thank you everyone at Desert Hope!

I have unfortunately been to so many different rehabs in my life and I have to say this one is the best reasons why; first of all the staff here is really loving helpful and you can tell they're here cuz they want to help it comes soon in the way that they deal with you. The entire staff I'd say is very wonderful but I have a couple of extra special ones Carrie one of many nurses. Gary Hart T.A. My counselors, the house keepers are so wonderful!! I really wasn't ready to come this time but I'm staying because of the establishment, second to none. Have to mention the food is excellent here. If you are thinking about going to rehab or taking a week out for yourself to work on yourself this place takes most insurance is I highly recommend it's working for me I feel wonderful the best I've ever felt in many many years.

This place is absolutely amazing! Not only do become a friend's with everyone in the program/treatment but you bond with these people and become a family. The staff is great and professional. Everyone watches out for everyone and the place isn't like a jail. It's more like a camp. The rooms are clean and you get 1 roommate with each a queen size bed (not like other sober livings with 4 or 5 to a room) I can honestly say I had amazing time and so much fun in the impatient program and looking forward to going to sober living!!! I'm grateful for this entire place and the process of it all.
