It wasn't exactly by choice that I ended up at Avenues Recovery Center, but I can now say in all honesty say that it was definitely a Blessing in disguise. I've rediscovered myself and am now able to say that I actually love myself, maybe for the first time ever. I was actually sober, with the exception of a few slips, for 13 years, when for whatever reason I relapsed very severely in March of 2023. It was a literal year in he'll. I left a wake of destruction behind myself. Avenues has helped me to find my truest self, and I honestly feel better and more free than I ever remember feeling in my entire life. The counselors here truly care about what they do and have made me realize that I actually do matter. If you're serious about your Recovery,and are ready to move forward with your life, Avenues is the place to be. Thank you Avenues for helping me find my Sobriety again, when I really thought I was a lost cause. I now feel like I have a true purpose in life.
I have had the best experience possible at this facility. The moment that I walked into the door, the staff and clients were nothing short of wonderful. I originally came to residency for the basic 30 day rehabilitation program. However, within two weeks of being here, I was informed that I could stay for 60 days if I wished to do so... I happily agreed. The time I have spent here was well used. Staff members performed all their jobs to a T. They helped me set myself up for success in my early treatment well into long term sobriety. 10/10 recommend to anyone who is looking into getting their life, in all aspects, back. Avenues in Metairie is a great place to go if you are interested in getting clean and having fun while you are doing it. There are great individual sessions with therapists that really allows you to look within your also, the clinical director here is phenomenal. She genuinely cares about the clients and does all she can to make you as a client feel like you matter. Thank you Steve and Donna. You both have been an influential part of my recovery.
This is an amazing program . I graduated in January. Just to start with the smaller things , the beds are comfy , own apartment, private, the food is good. THE COUNSELORS ARE EXCELLENT! ELIZABETH was my counselor inpatient and I saw tremendous growth in me. She showed me Iam intresicly valuable. Alumni is awesome. IOPshod really have it's own review. It's excellent. I do my socializing here with sober people I already have a report with. They feed us and give our meds. Great comrodery.By far the best part is my counselor. KAT IS AMAZING! I don't know where I'd be with out her. She points my growth out to me. Has helped me get through many tough situations. She is educated, informative and has amazing feedback! She's my favorite part of this all around awesome experience. She not only is awesome listener but gives great advise and makes me feel important. This woman along with ERIN who I affectionatly call Nanny has great art projects and is very kind. Along with the receptionist Ms Altondra is so organized and helps everything run smoothly. When I walk thru the door as the first face I see greets me with care and optimism. I love this place and these lady's. IOP is fun therapeutic and full of love. Also shout out to Ashly Duncan and Sam who are huge parts of my recovery in alumni and outside AA meetings. Disclaimer this program is what you make it. Use these tools!
Thank you to Ashley and all the folks from Avenues Recovery who facilitate the Sober Safe Spot at Mardi Gras! It has been my go-to parade spot two years running, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Like in many sober spaces, I feel welcomed, comfortable and safe, and always have great conversations with like-minded, respectful people. The Sober Safe Spot is in an awesome location, and is just a massive blessing. Thank you, thank you!!!!
