Arista Recovery – Paola

Arista Recovery is a top tier facility that has truly separated itself from the average substance abuse treatment facility. The amount of effort that the ownership puts into hiring staff that is able to connect with the clients on a level where they all feel welcomed and cared for is a blessing. The admissions team in particular is so effective at making you feel like you are so much more than just another voice on the phone. Shane, Michael, and Ryan N truly played a crucial role in having me follow through! I highly recommend Arista to anyone struggling with substance use!

This recovery/rehab facility in Paola, KS is not quite as physically nice as pictured online. Based on the reviews it seems the quality of care/therapy/staff is very good/has many positives. It is not a beautiful rehab facility out in the countryside, as it looks online. You are in the middle of a neighborhood, but there is lots of green space on the property. All the other reviews say the care is good /effective /impactful and that is more important than the actual surroundings. Good Luck on your choice of facilities. I am a Mom of a 30 year old son who needed help. I searched for nice Recovery places in the Midwest that took his insurance. I was grateful to find this one 3 hours from our home. In the end, it was not the several week recovery stay we had anticipated for our son - he checked himself out after a day of detox, he felt well enough, and said that it was not as nice as presented online. (The horses pictured are used for therapy once a week and are brought in, they are not on site. Intake specialists are very responsive, but once our son was there it was difficult to get ahold of his detox Nurse. We were told that we could call daily to check and see how he was doing, but this was not possible for us. They said he didn't sign a "release of information" (they never gave him one at intake) and so we were never given any information. We wanted and thought the detox rooms were private, based on an online picture. We should have asked. You share with another person and they could be in bad shape. We should have asked more questions on the actual cost for detox and recovery. When I inquired, I was told that his remaining insurance out of pocket maximum for the year would be applied and I paid that upon arrival). One other reviews said "beware" of billing practices, and I would concur. Jennifer in billing in KS was very helpful, but I was told I would owe 1/2 a day of detox, approx $425 (ins pays half) and this is what I paid, BUT my insurance was billed $3300. Of course ins doesn't allow that amount, but it seems like an "accounting questionable practice" on the part of Arista and someone is able to possibly "write off" about $2875. As a financial person this makes me a bit leery.

I am the Owner/Founder of Living Life Ranch, and we have been collaborating with Arista Recovery since February 2023. Every week, our Training Director: Jayne Hamilton and I transport horses to Arista to offer Equine Assisted Learning to their recovering patients. It brings us great joy to be a part of their program. Surprisingly, our horses eagerly anticipate these visits each week, seeming to say, “Pick Me, Pick Me.” The tranquil surroundings at Arista continue to improve, creating a serene atmosphere. Chris Atkins, a Counselor at Arista, was initially new to working with horses but has since become a valuable asset to our Equine Program. His deep care and dedication to his patients are evident. Our teamwork is seamless and harmonious, much like the Leadership team comprising Mac Crawford and Kenneth Vick, who share the same commitment. When the leadership team actively engages with the horses and patients, it demonstrates their genuine concern for the patients' success post-treatment. We thoroughly enjoy our collaboration with the Arista team at Living Life Ranch, and if a client is in need, we confidently refer them to Arista for assistance.

I had a wonderfull experience at Arista. Most all of the staff were really accommodating. Especially Brittany the BHT who worked really hard to make sure all of my needs were met. Highly recommend Arista for your treatment needs.

Arista is a good place to do treatment- they care! And the residents here become family when you really want to work your program! Both the staff and residents were so encouraging
