I have been so impressed with my stay here. Not being my first treatment center, unfortunately, I have several experiences to compare this with. Alpas in La Plata is a tremendous treatment experience for anyone coming in as a first-timer to one giving treatment another try. The selection of material offered is scaled as such to cover everything from intro to “transition” for those preparing to leave my therapist was highly qualified, compassionate and skillful at helping me design my treatment plan, then keep on top of it. My treatment navigator, George, was quick to help with whatever I needed, and had helped me pick out an aftercare plan by the end of Week 2! There are weekly outings to enjoy. The BHT, medical, food service, and housekeeping staffs were all warm and kind, standing by to help their # focus — the patients.
I would recommend Alpas to anyone seeking a high quality program of excellent structure, top tier content, and employees that care.
Before Alpas, I had resisted residential treatment for years. The idea of being away from home was scary, and committing to it felt like I was branding myself as the “rehab guy.” I’ve had a few negative experiences in the past when looking for help; “recruiters” used scare tactics and manipulation to try to convince me I HAVE to go facilities I’ve never heard of, for absurd amounts of time, with no consideration for my individual needs.
Alpas is not some network of culty religious people trying to convince you that you’re broken. It was the complete opposite. They made me feel heard for the first time.
After completing my stay at Alpas, I can say with confidence that it was the best decision I’ve made as a young adult. They are staffed with great nurses 24/7 who quite literally deleted 95% of my withdrawal symptoms within the first few hours of being there.
The staff is trained to be kind and supportive, and that behavior resonates and is reciprocated by the patients like myself. It was truly a great culture of individuals wanting to better themselves and support each other through the process. It was quite incredible seeing people from all walks of life treat each other as equals.
An amazing feature of Alpas was the variety of activities they offer. Each day there is a schedule with multiple activities happening at the same time. It gives you the freedom to choose what you spend your time on. From coping skills lessons, to yoga, to basketball, to group therapy, etc.
My only regret is taking so many years to decide to seek help at this level! If you are someone that is worried about feeling isolated, like a prisoner on a strict schedule, or shameful for having to be there, I can promise you that is not what your experience will be. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill “rehab” that will treat you like a number. Everyone is there for different reasons, and Alpas does a great job at making you feel like the unique individual you are.
I want to personally thank my case manager Darryl for being so diligent in fulfilling my needs and providing an outstanding level of kindness. I also want to thank Nurse Reggie for having the personality of a saint. He wasn’t just there to give me medicine, he truly wanted to brighten my day with a combination of hope and humor.
If you struggle with substance abuse but are hesitant to pull the trigger, I encourage you to take a chance with Alpas.
Thank you, Team Alpas

I've been to a decent amount of residential treatment facilities, and honestly Alpas has been the best recovery experience. I could tell that a majority of the staff are here because they care and want to help us recover. It is rare to find a treatment center that is well structured, well maintained, and gives useful insight on mental health as well as alcoholism/ addiction. The food is amazing, and I felt understood, safe, and I felt accepted. I HIGHLY recommend this place for those who are at the point of desperation and are looking to begin a new chapter in their lives.
I attended Alpas for 28 days and the experience genuinely was amazing. The friendships and knowledge I’ve gained through Alpas will help strengthen my sobriety as I transition to PHP. George was my case manager and put my needs at the forefront which made my stay that much more welcoming. Loved this place
Alpas Recovery has truly been a blessing for our family. After my son had been through several recovery centers without receiving the support he needed, God led us here. From the moment he arrived, the staff showed genuine care, compassion, and professionalism. Special thanks to everyone involved in his care They created a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment that finally gave my son peace, hope, and a reason to stay and continue his journey. We are beyond grateful. Highly recommend Alpas Recovery.
