What a life changing experience I had walking through those doors of Soba. As scared and hesitant as I was it was the best decision I have ever made. From the minute I walked through the door the staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home. It was comforting to know that most of them had been through what I was going through and truly cared about our recovery. The clinicians and counselors were knowledgeable and compassionate so it was easy to talk to them about things I couldn’t imagine telling anyone. They made the sessions fun and full of laughs. Shout out to Mike - he was the glue that held the facility together . Anytime someone needed anything he came through whether it was getting someone items or clothing they may not have had , running out for food when deliveries didn’t show up , helping us navigate issues that were happening in our personal lives outside of the facility and spoiling us with his Italian treats that’s he ran all over the city to let us try. The chef was amazing and was open to requests for various diet needs we had. The facility was cozy and smaller than a large commercialized place so you didn’t feel lost in the groups and felt relaxed. It was professionally cleaned every day and was immaculate thanks to the cleaning team . Best of all,
the small group of people I met all became friends. We truly all respected each other , listened to each other , were able to be ourselves and had many good laughs and cries. Once everyone has successfully completed their time we will all meet again. One thing I learned was to be successful and get over our fears and hesitations you need to do things that are uncomfortable for you . I am so glad I did and walked through those doors. I will forever be grateful for Soba!
I can’t say enough good things about my experience at SOBA. The facility itself was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, but what truly made the difference was the staff.
Everyone was incredibly caring, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping clients succeed. A special shoutout to the techs Rob, Trevor, Passion, Isaiah, Ernest, Rich, Leo, Sarah and Mazary. They made a difficult time so much easier with their kindness, encouragement, and ability to bring some fun and laughter into the days when it was needed most.
I also want to recognize Mike, who consistently went above and beyond for the clients. Whether it was providing snacks and meals or making sure everyone had what they needed, his compassion never went unnoticed. When I was struggling to stomach anything, he even ordered me chicken noodle soup two days in a row. It was such a simple gesture, but it meant so much and showed how much he truly cared.
I am incredibly grateful that I found SOBA. The support I received, the relationships I built, and the care shown by the staff made a lasting impact on my recovery journey. Thank you to everyone who helped make this experience a positive one.
SOBA and its people have changed my life! From the moment I mustered up enough courage to call to leaving there clean, educated, confident and loved. I’d never been to a rehab in my life before. I had no idea what to expect. The nurses, clinicians, techs, chefs, financial and case workers gently helped me to navigate this part of my life. I didn’t realize I had a disease- I learned alcoholism is a disease and alcohol is a drug. (I thought it was a choice). Each day was better than the one before and they educated me- the more I was learning, the more I wanted to learn! The food the chefs cooked was delicious- I think I gained 10 pounds.
The littlest detail to comfort was incredible. They showed me that human compassion and kindness still exists.
I would recommend SOBA to anyone and everyone! Believe me, you will come away educated, comforted and confident to beat your addiction. Thank you Trevor, Neil, Leo, Phil, Rich, Sara, Misari, Isaiah, Amy, Sam, Cat, Mike and Passion. You made me healthy and happy and well equipped to continue life with a clear mind, a clear head, and a strong heart. (If I forgot anyone know you are in my heart too!)
Seeing as this has been my first time ever attending and being part of a treatment center, i definitely went in a little hesitant at first, but as the days went by I’ve gotten to know so many people along the way. Including other patients who I’ve made strong connections with, as well as all the staff members who helped me get through this long and fulfilling journey. I will forever be grateful to have experienced this wonderful opportunity to better myself, because of the people themselves. I would like to humbly thank everyone who I’ve gotten to know, and that have guided me through my own struggles. Now going into the next step, I still, to this very day, take everything I have learned from soba with me every single day. Thank you all.
From top to bottom SOBA is exactly what you could ever need for recovery. All of the staff from Mike the director, Phil the clinician, Joel and James the chefs, Julie and Reeva the nurses, also Isaiah and Rich the technicians, and everyone else I didn't mention make it undeniably clear that they are there to help and care for anyone who walks through those doors. In the beginning of any journey to the tail end and after they will stick by you and guide you to your own path of recovery and it's hard to ask for anything more than what they give because they give it all. The environment, the food, the engagement is all top notch and personable; it's obvious they care for every individual they can. They've given me what I need to succeed in the future and will for anyone else I'm certain. With that being said if I ever needed help in the future I would choose soba again 100%.
