What Our Patients Say About Us
Reviews
Saved my life! Comfortable, good food, and everyone seems to care a lot about the patients. Sabrina is the best PCC I've ever worked with. Angie is great too she gave me a vape when I had ran out of cigarettes for the week but besides that she is there for you whenever you need something. I learned so much from Dr Taylor. If you need help this is the best place in Michigan IMO
I recently completed a multi-week recovery program at Skywood, and I was very pleased with my experience here. The campus is beautiful, set amongst acres of nature and wildlife. The staff is great too from therapists like Laura to case managers like Yvonne to RAs like Anthony. The food is really good, and best of all, it’s a results-driven program, and I feel the best I have in a long time leaving Skywood. Thanks again for everything!
I am overall really satisfied with Skywood Recovery , I had stayed during the season of winter so I was not able to experience the outdoor activities. But the staff and guest speakers well made up for the lack of activity outdoors. The food is unreal, it’s so good. The functionality of the dorms and gym were superb. Just be sure you are willing to commit to staying there for as long as it takes (30-45-60 days).
If you can do that, You will love it there. Would definitely recommend to a friend in need. Thank you Skywood!
Skywood completely changed the course of my life. When I entered treatment at 36, I had been battling addiction for nearly two decades. I was ready—desperate for a change and fully committed to doing the deep internal work necessary for lasting recovery. Skywood gave me the tools, education, therapy, and most importantly, the community and connections that made real transformation possible.
One of the most powerful aspects of Skywood is the staff. They are not only highly knowledgeable due to their education and training, but many also have personal experiences with addiction and recovery. They don’t just teach recovery—they live it, and they share their wisdom and passion with anyone willing to be open and honest with themselves. Their insight, guidance, and unwavering support helped me uncover truths about myself that I had avoided for years.
The environment itself was also a key part of my healing—being surrounded by nature, fresh air, and open space allowed me to reconnect with myself in a way I never had before. Even after leaving, I faced challenges and relapsed a couple of times, but because of what I learned at Skywood, I was able to get back up, grow from those experiences, and strengthen my recovery even more.
I’m forever grateful for my time at Skywood and for the ongoing support I’ve received from the alumni network. If you’re struggling and searching for a place that can truly help you build a foundation for long-term sobriety, I can’t recommend Skywood enough. It’s not just a treatment center—it’s a place where lives are rebuilt, and hope is restored.
I thought that the therapist and guest therapist were totally awesome. I learned a great deal while I was there from them! The women in the business office, some of the nurses, and a couple of the RAs are less than desirable. Some should not be working in that kind of environment! They do have a few nurses and a couple RAs that made me feel comfortable! The cleanliness is less than desirable, but you can clean it yourself, but shouldn't have to. The RAs office is very disgusting! Some RAs spend too much time on their phone when they could be cleaning their office area! I will recommend Skywood for anyone looking to get help! Some of this stuff needs to be taken care of and hopefully will be. Please don't let any of what I put on here make you not want to go! I just want you to know of some of the other things so your not surprised! The treatment part is fabulous and you will learn so many things. The grounds are beautiful and they have things you can do outside in the summer time. The food was ok but not sure if they know how to steam vegetables or make noodles lol. Everyone loved the duck, lamb, and fish. I liked the swordfish. No duck or lamb for me lol. If you have a special diet, the chef will take care of you. If you dont like something that they are making for dinner, let them know in the morning so they have time to make you something
If I ever needed to go back "which I pray I never do," I will definitely go to skywood! The other residents that I met were great. No judgement from others for sure. We were all there for the same reason and we all lifted each other up! Very different from the outside world! If you are a smoker, you can go outside and smoke. You get 15 min for a phone call or calls, but only 15 min. You can work for points and get an hour pass on your own cell phone. Then when you go PHP you get your phone 3-4 hrs a night depending if it's a weekend or weekday! Please just go and get help! The therapists are outstanding!!
