What Our Patients Say About Us
Reviews
I’ve heard Princeton Detox & Recovery Center referred to as a Hilton, but the Hilton never had a nurse practitioner who’s survived multiple gunshots and still shows up every day and quotes Arthur C. Clarke: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” She’s proof that compassion is, too.
The place is spotless, the air smells like calm, and the food is extraordinary—real cooking from people who care. One morning I slept through breakfast, wandered down half-awake, and the chef just looked up and said, “Want me to make you something?” Ten minutes later I was standing at the counter with bacon, eggs, and a perfectly fried hash brown. That’s not hospitality; that’s heart.
The whole team—nurses, counselors, techs—runs like one organism. They treat you with dignity, good humor, and the kind of patience you can’t fake. The nurses have such good humor and didn't give me political correctness lecture when I suggested that my blood pressure is always lower when a woman takes it. I’m pretty sure science will back me up.
They do your laundry, keep the place shining, and even have an executive program that lets people like me keep our laptops—a mercy for the chronically addicted to both Wi-Fi and control. You will pay for the privilege, though (a testament to just how bad your workaholism is).
If chaos has been running your life, this is where you don’t just hit pause—you finally press stop. They’ll feed you well, tell you the truth, and hand you back the dignity you forgot you still had.
The staff is amazing here. From the nurses, to the techs and therapists this is the place to go to when you are in need of help. The food is fantastic as it should be when detoxing. This place really does care and constantly reaches out to me to make sure I am okay. There is plenty of room, comfortable living rooms, and giant bathrooms to shower in. I actually enjoyed my time there which gave me a chance to take my mind off of my problems. The meetings are optional when detoxing and when one does choose to attend, they are very therapeutic. Easy five stars
Overall it was an excellent experience. The food is amazing, and the staff is incredible. Special shout outs to Regina, Chris(and the entire nursing staff you’re all the best), both Brian’s, Ericka, Joe, Taylor, Kylie, and the Chef’s. You guys are amazing and I thank you for your time and passion for helping people. The only complaints I have is letting the manic chaotic clients ruin the experience for others truly wanting to be calm and focus on detox and recovery. As well as the lack of towels in the morning- that should be addressed as there should always be towels available whether they are being stolen or hoarded. I truly thank all of you for the support, the H&I groups are invaluable and helped a TON. The other groups were okay but feel they could be better. I’d like to thank Alyce for addressing complaints promptly and trying to ensure a safer more comfortable environment. My biggest suggestion is that there should be a security employee at the facility at all times for staff and client safety. ODAAT- It works if you work it. Follow the white rabbit(open your eyes to the world of sobriety and you will enter reality). With love, Neil aka NEO.
I’ve been to Princeton detox a few times since I started my recovery. I will be two years sober on February 11 2025. I can’t say enough about the staff. Everyone treated me with so much respect and encouragement when I was at my lowest. My counselor Stacey couldn’t do enough to make sure I was set up with a 30 day stay once I finished my detox. She was unbelievably understanding and soooo helpful. When I relapsed and came back, the staff didn’t look down on me for relapsing but lifted my spirits up and convinced me that I can get sober . Jack, who runs meetings there a couple times a week was fantastic! I would highly recommend anyone that comes there, make his meetings.
Princeton Detox was so influential in my recovery that I have returned several times to speak to patients about my recovery.
As hard as detox was, they made it an actual uplifting experience. The staff was great. They had a nice pavilion outside with chalk and games. It really helped to be able to go outside and hangout whenever you wanted. They also had a craft room to keep you occupied. It really was a good experience and I highly recommend them. I’ve been out for 7 months and they still call to check up on me and see how I’m doing. Doing great BTW.
