What Our Patients Say About Us
Reviews
My experience at Pasadena Villa at Smoky Mountain Lodge was more than I expected. The admissions process was smooth and professional. I received my treatment plan days after I arrived. Before I arrived, the rules that needed to be adhered to for the safety of all were explained professionally and courteously. All of the therapists who in fact teach the classes/groups were totally vested in the care of the patients. They honestly enjoy helping people. The kitchen staff were on top of my personal dietary needs. The food was wonderful. I personally enjoyed the steak sandwich. You didn’t need teeth. The medical staff was top notch and paid very close attention to my medications. Overall I believe Pasadena Villa has the best interest of each patient involved, and they’re super friendly and supportive, too.
The lodge was absolutely beautiful. The techs go over and beyond and are there when you need them. Also my therapist was beyond wonderful. And the kitchen staff were great too. The food was amazing. I will definitely come back if I ever need this type of treatment again.
Pasadena Villa changed my life and outlook for myself and getting well. The staff was fantastic and all therapists and clinical staff, and many others truly cared about me and my progress of recovery.
Various types of group and individual therapy spearheaded this, along with music and art therapy. The other fellow clients were a great support system for me as well which I still keep up with to this day. It is a scary process to begin, but absolutely worth it. Pasadena Villa/Smoky Mountain Lodge truly cares about their charge of helping people in need, whether it be mental illness, substance abuse, or both.
I learned that I can accomplished my goals while at the Lodge. I finally begin to believe in myself again, as well as restored faith with my God, faith in humanity, and faith that I can get well. Anyone can if they commit to it. All people in need owe this wonderful renewal of life to themselves, and that process was started at Pasadena Villa.
I am so grateful for my treatment at Smoky Mountain Lodge. Before I came, I had given up on myself and my life and was in a very dark place. When I arrived, the other residents opened their hearts to me and I stopped isolating. The social integration model that Smoky Mountain Lodge uses works. The therapists were all so genuine a caring and I’m leaving Pasadena Villa now excited about my future. I had to have the realization that it was up to me to rebuild my life and that I could lean on others for support at the same time. I learned how to grow in my independence while learning how to receive help all at once. The setting was beautiful and the food was great as well. I highly recommend Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge to those needing the kind of help I needed.
My review requires a little context. Last summer, I went on a month long trip and found a kind of happiness I'd never found before. When I came back, I had a major mental crisis because I was so afraid of losing that happiness. I got stuck in the past in a very severe, OCD way, isolating and not leaving my apartment because I didn't want to feel any new feelings. I wasn't able to move on into the present, much less the future.
I was stuck like that for 7 months until it brought me to Pasadena, and the relationships I made with the residents were so profound that I was finally able to let go of last summer and live in the present moment again. They made me want to live in the now again. When I got there, I felt like the most mentally stuck person in the US, but they got me unstuck--and I know they can get you unstuck, too.
I call my time at Pasadena a love story. Every second of it felt like one. Like pure magic was in the air. By the end, my heart was overflowing with unconditional love, and I did not want to leave!!
My biggest regret is that I didn't write every second of it down so I could keep it as a novel. (I tried, but I was often too tired at the end of each day to write--every day was so eventful. If I could go back in time, though, I would have made it a priority).
