Ocean State Recovery Center

Ocean State Recovery Center is the first treatment center that I have been to that fully convinced me that I can in fact stay sober and live a better life. In my decade plus of fighting mental health and substance abuse problems at numerous different treatment facilities, I never once believed that it could work for me. OSRC changed that. They are the gold standard for recovery in the region. I have had periods of sobriety before, but never true recovery until joining the PHP, and later IOP, at Ocean State. The case managers and therapists are truly compassionate, highly educated, and knowledgable professionals who want nothing more than to see clients succeed. You are not a number or insurance payment to them, but a human being deserving and capable of living a better life. In the 6 months that I have been a client, I have maybe repeated a topic in session twice. Compare that to the PHP/IOP at the biggest mental health hospital around: a 5-7 day program duration and on Day 4 you are repeating the exact same topics, lectures, and handouts as Day 1. Ocean State digs into the root causes of our behaviors and helps us learn to change our mentality towards ourselves. It is not just about putting the substances down, but about becoming a version of yourself that you can be proud of and actually happy with. I resisted a solid program of recovery for years, and the clinicians at Ocean State helped me to break through that reluctance and prove to me that I was worthy of doing this work. It has now been over 4 months since my last drink, I am an active member of a 12 Step program, I have a sponsor, and a fantastic network of sober people that I can call friends. None of these would have been possible if it weren’t for the genuine care and compassion shown to me by the staff at Ocean State Recovery, not to mention maybe a little bit of prodding! I have felt better about myself in these last four months than I ever have before - even at times when I had over a year sober. If you are even sort of, maybe, kinda considering getting help and starting any kind of treatment, look no further than OSRC. This place has changed my life and the lives of countless others who once believed themselves hopeless just as I had.

Simply put, Ocean State Recovery Center is amazing.  From the welcoming office staff to the dedicated and compassionate therapists guiding recovery, everyone here changes lives.  It's a daunting decision to seek a program to help with recovery, but the decision to come to Ocean State saved me. From walking in during such an uncertain and vulnerable time in my life to completing the program and having tools instilled here and knowledge gained through this process will be instrumental in my ongoing journey of recovery. I will forever be grateful to Ocean State and the people I met in groups who were so supportive. And a special thank you to Taylor, Aliza, Tim, Danny, Geoff, Joe, Angie, and everyone that make this place amazing!

Ocean State Recovery Center truly changed my life. I went through their IOP program, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The staff are not only knowledgeable and professional, but they genuinely care about every single person who walks through their doors. They created a safe, supportive environment where I felt seen, heard, and understood. Recovery isn’t easy, but Ocean State gave me the tools, structure, and encouragement I needed to get through some of the hardest moments of my life. The connections I made there and the support I received played a huge role in helping me stay on track and rebuild myself. I am beyond grateful for everything they’ve done for me. Ocean State Recovery Center is one of the most welcoming environments I have ever been in.The staff are all extremely supportive of patients and each other. As an someone who struggles with putting myself in new environments and being outside of my comfort zone, I could not have asked for a better experience here. I quickly became comfortable opening up and felt overall supported. Also, seeing the work that they do and the services that they provide for individuals was amazing.
