Newport Academy Pineville

We are thankful for the combined therapies at Newport Academy. Individual, family and groups. Our family wanted a "Voluntary" treatment program to help our son better understand his current choices and the weight of their consequences. He was a resident there for over 100 days and I would be untruthful to say that he enjoyed every minute, but he embraced the programs offerings and is now better equipped with tools, skills and resources that will hopefully lead to a more positive outlook on life, truly know he never has to go it alone, and to believe in himself. Although we would have liked to have had a little more reports and updates on his personal progress along the way, we knew, as with any residential type program, parents should advocate as often as they can for their child, and were always respectfully provided answers to any inquiries on any day or night and at any time by any staff member we contacted. We had a long but mostly positive experience with the program and its staff members and our son feels he has many mentors and lifelong friendships. We are all still working on our individual needs to repair our family, but we know that Newport has made a difference in how we identify our problem areas, develop our solutions and treat each other with respect as we navigate through the process of change.
