What Our Patients Say About Us
Reviews
This place was awesome for detox. The nurses were great, never had a bad experience with them. I treated them with respect, and they did the same in return.
They do a urine test when you arrive. At night, they offer sleep meds like Seroquel and Trazodone, but only before 3 AM. You also get comfort meds like hydroxyzine, gabapentin, muscle relaxers, Zofran, and more. Depending on your withdrawal symptoms, they give Subutex, Phenobarbital, and Valium. Those are the med names I remember, but there are more.
The room felt like a hotel, and the food was honestly some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Plus, free snacks. There's no laundry service though. You can smoke outside, but bring your own cigarettes because they don’t sell them there, and people will definitely ask you for some, so stock up. No nicotine vapes or phones are allowed. They have one computer you can use and 3 landline phones that are shut off at 11 PM. The rooms upstairs have a bathroom with a toilet and sink, and there are private showers outside of the rooms. Each room has 2 beds + 1 smart TV with YouTube and other streaming services (if you have your own account), plus free cable with hundreds of channels. It's also soundproof enough so you don't hear other TVs. The techs were super helpful when I was feeling anxious or worried, don’t hesitate to talk to them.
Overall, my experience was really positive. Now that I’m back home and looking into inpatient rehab, I actually miss it there and the comfort meds. I've been sober and recovering since my stay. I met a lot of cool people. There are three main hangout spots: the dining area, the outdoor smoking area, and a downstairs space with a big smart TV. They even have board games to play.
Inver grove heights location: Place is as good as it gets, except for one nurse named Morgan. She refused to medicate me because she was a "different nurse" than I had the day before. It was down right dangerous based on what I had the day before, as I'm seizure prone. I got a bit upset and said alright I'm leaving. She simply smiled and said "okay, good". Other than that every other staff member was truly awesome. Food was great, there's tons of snacks and drinks and you can smoke
Such a great place. First of all it’s a resort. It’s a relaxing environment. I think it’s amazing that the state has places like this literally designed to help you come off of drugs and alcohol. Take advantage of it it’s probably the nicest place you could go to come off whatever.
Gateway recovery is by far the best detox that have been to. There may be a wait to get in but it is super worth it at 1800 Chicago you feel like a number and here you get the same meds but feel like an individual they accept state insurance chef here most the day snacks and Gatorade all the time available they help you as a bridge to treatment it’s amazing thank you guys so much for all the help I could keep going just if your thinking about going go they will help you and it’s rather painless
