What Our Patients Say About Us
Reviews
This program has genuinely changed my life. I'm not from New hampshire and I was new to rehab, but Avenues welcomed me with open arms. They gave me hope when I felt like I had already lost everything. The structure here was what I needed after being out of control for so long. The groups filled me with information that helped me grow in my recovery and as a person. The staff here are amazing and they care so much. Not just because it's their job, but because they understand. Jackie, Lexii, Justin, Bryan H., Beth, Serene, Jess, and my therapist Kate. They have helped me get through my roughest challenges and I'm so grateful I made the decision to come here. The alumni group is great here. They have fun activities and meaningful moments with one another. I'm very happy to be apart of avenues alumni thanks to Beth and Steve K. I am deeply grateful for Avenues.
The alumni program was one of the best programs I’ve experienced since my time at avenues. Beth Murphy was an amazing soul and coordinator she made my stay here memorable! I was able to connect with other avenues clients and alumni growing my network so that I can reach new heights with new friends in my community! I will always remember the laughs and good times I have shared while engaged with the alumni events and community!
Thank you for everything
Avenues is the best recovery place I've been too. People here really care about you, and you build family and friendships here. They make you feel at home. You also learn alot of different things here and different coping skills for your sobriety and recovery. No one judges you here regardless of your past. If your looking for a place for recovery and get sober, Avenues New Hampshire is the best place to be. There's always hope and light at the end of the tunnel and I love every one here!

I would also like to express my sincere appreciation for my individual therapist, Amber; she brought a steady, thoughtful presence to each session, creating a space where honesty felt not only possible, but necessary. Her approach was both grounded and perceptive, offering insight without forcing conclusions and allowing me to arrive at realizations with a sense of ownership. There was a balance in her work that I came to value deeply; she was direct when needed, patient when it mattered, and consistently engaged in the process. Amber, truly a lovely guide in this chapter, helped me navigate difficult internal terrain with clarity and intention; her influence will continue to shape how I reflect, respond, and move forward.
After spending one month at Avenues in Denver, followed by five months in New Hampshire, I can say with conviction that I now navigate my reactions to the world with far greater composure, awareness, and intentionality; I have developed practical coping skills, immersed myself in a strong and supportive recovery community, and continued to grow through sustained connection. ‘Beth-Everybody’ and her amazing alumni events stand as a powerful extension of this work; they reinforce accountability, foster continued engagement, and provide a meaningful bridge between structured treatment and independent life; I also cold plunged in the Atlantic Ocean whilst screaming, “Go Broncos.”; Thank you Beth-Everybody.
Recently, I was required to appear in court; it was in that setting that the work I had done through Avenues revealed its full weight. With the guidance of Niki in case management, who ensured that all of my UA results, letters of presence, and supporting documentation were thoroughly organized and presented, the judge was able to clearly see the depth of my effort and commitment. That effort was acknowledged and even commended; the result being a reduction in fines, along with a decrease in both probation and community service requirements. It served as a powerful affirmation that recovery is not abstract; it is visible, measurable, and capable of influencing even the most formal and consequential aspects of one’s life.
What distinguishes Avenues is that it does not merely speak about change in theoretical terms; it creates the conditions in which change must be demonstrated, consistently and without excuse. Through structure, accountability, and genuine support, I was given the opportunity to prove to myself and to those around me that I am capable of living differently.
On a lighter note, like Andy Dufresne, I found myself writing weekly, and at times daily, letters to clinical regarding an amour fou; a small and somewhat humorous ritual, yet one that reflected a deeper commitment to persistence, reflection, and belief. Do not stop believing in yourself...ever.
If you are serious about recovery and willing to engage fully in the process, Avenues will meet you with equal intensity and guide you forward; I am proud of the progress I made during my time there, and I carry those lessons with me each day, not as distant memories, but as principles actively shaping the course of my life.
“And now that you do not have to be perfect, you can be good.” — John Steinbeck
“All human wisdom is contained in these two words: wait and hope.” — Alexandre Dumas
Avenues New Hampshire was a completely rewarding experience. As a retired Army Sergeant-Major living with combat PTSD, anxiety, and depression my therapist Jamie took me on a road called shadow work which enabled me to discover many of my challenges through life were a direct result of high expectations from a politically connected family that loved, but didn't know how to say. I commend the entire staff for there professionalism, understanding, and patience.
Thanks to my peers for supporting me through this journey and moreover my family and friends who seek nothing but the best for me. One day! One choice! One Avenues!!
