If you're willing to do the work, this place is right for you. I am glad to say I chose here over anywhere else as this place helps you work on your mental health immensely, as well as your addiction. They actually give you the tools to mentally prepare yourself for your departure, coping skills, how to curb cravings, and how to love yourself again most importantly, it won't be easy but it will be worth it. My counselor was amazing, the nurses were kind, and the food is decent. All around I'm happy to say this place probably saved my life.
I went to avenues in Prince Frederick's. There I was taught accountability responsibility and stability as well as focusing on how my addiction started by helping me focus on my past trauma Life trauma and how to love myself without avenues I wouldn't be the person that I am today I am 9 months clean. Thank you avenue so much for giving me the time of day to show me how to love myself and how to channel my inner self to bring out what I needed to work on I am living a stability life now.
I walked in the door lost, broken and exhausted. After making the commitment to complete the program, I feel recharged and focused - ready to handle life with so many new tools and relationships to help me on my recovery journey. The group facilitators care so deeply about the well-being of the clients and was a pleasure to interact with them on a daily basis. My counselor, Danell was hand picked for me and we did tremendous work to peel back the layers of my life and work through some underlying issues. To say he helped me would be an understatement. I am walking away with the belief that I was meant to come to Avenues so that we could work together. The alumni coordinator, Riley is not only an outstanding person, but organizes fun games to play that keep you active and help to get your mind off of the day-to-day routine. The level of genuine care is off the charts. From top to bottom, I am thankful for my time at Avenues and all the people who make this more than a recovery center, but a ligament place of healing and love. I came to avenues lost. I didn’t have any drive to live anymore and coming to avenues I found my light again. I never thought I’d say that again. The groups here are amazing and the staff are to. They care and it’s not fake. It’s a 60 day program and it’s worth it. Jamel is an amazing counselor. If you wanna get sober this is a great place to do it. Riley you’re a queen thank you for everything!
Avenues was a great recovery center. The staff are like family. They are willing to do whatever you need to obtain your sobriety.I had an awesome councilor, Anela, which made the experience so much better. I would recommend it if your looking to get help.
