What Our Patients Say About Us

Keep up the good work!

The program and staff at AdCare exceeded my expectations. I worked closely with Victoria and Skylar both of whom provided me with a personalized experience and launched me off into a good post treatment plan. I am very much at home with my current AA group and have some trying times without buckling to what used to be triggers. The biggest things I took away from the program was honesty in my everyday life, understanding addiction and getting to know the other patients which was highly beneficial. I always enjoy running into others I met at AdCare as well as my PHP/IOP program from when I was discharged. Keep up the good work!

you will not regret it!

In my opinion this is THE BEST detox and treatment facility in Rhode Island. From the Admissions, to the counselors, and even the nurses. Everyone makes you feel comfortable and at home while providing you with the necessary tools and coping skills needed for Recovery. You can tell the counselors, such as Jess K, Amie, Melissa and Dan, really do care. They have no problem working one on one with you, talking you through hard times, and comforting you when needed. The greatest thing about this facility is that most of the counselors and even nurses have been in recovery themselves, so they really do get it and can speak to you from personal experience! When I arrived in Detox I was in rough shape, going through Withdrawals. One of the nurses, Hope saw how bad of shape I was in and you could tell she was worried and concerned about me. I thought I was going to have a seizure but Hope gave me the necessary comfort meds to stop my shakes and tremors, and calm me down. When I got up to the residential unit I even had really good conversations with the other Nurse Haley. She was able to provide insight from experience and also recommend different meetings for me to try out. It’s just a testament to show that everyone who works here doesn’t just consider this place as their 9-5 job, they Really do care! I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants to take that difficult first step in recovery, you will not regret it!

I couldn’t be more appreciative

This facility has brought hope back into my life. I was hopeless while in active addiction, and through the help of the entire staff in Adcare, I was able to reclaim my life. Every single staff member that I encountered was genuine, sincere, and kind. They truly wanted to see me succeed, and would go out of their way to provide me with any and all services that were needed. Also, the facility was very accommodating, with a kitchen staff that made sure I was well fed. This place saved my life, and I couldn’t be more appreciative.

I've been in other detox facilities before. This one is top quality care. One night while trying to make it to the bathroom. My knee gave out because of a past injury. I could not walk. I managed to get to the nurse, hopping along. And this was like 2 a.m. . The nurse gave me ice packs and a couple ibuprofen. Helped me get back to my room, propped some pillows under my knee and tucked me in. In the morning I was walking again. Thanks to the nurse on third shift in the detox unit. I really appreciate the care I received. I felt like a little boy being tucked in by his mommy.

The staff at this facility were really great and helpful throughout my journey this time around and the place itself is pretty well kept. The group facilitators and groups themselves were really helpful with actually understanding my addiction. I've been to a few other detox/residential places in RI and this is by far the best overall. I feel confident and supported leaving Adcare with the right tools and networks to help along the way. If you want to get sober I would highly recommend coming here.

I’ve been to far too many rehab centers in my life and I feel I’ve always taken something positive away with me. My experience at AdCare has been amazing. The core group of fellow patients I spent my time with were crucial to my overall experience. I found the groups to be top notch with appropriate content and well presented. Special nod to Megan,Carlin and bill. My counselor Victoria was great. She went over and above to help me navigate an issue with insurance and worked hard at getting my aftercare set up. She really took her job to a different level. I’m leaving AdCare with great optimism and am grateful for everything. Also the food was great and I gained 15 lbs that I didn’t really need

So for my experience this far it has been very very awesome. I am looking forward to my recovery here and experiencing what has yet to come. I'm sad that I cannot explore the woods and that they do not have an art room but Nicole expressed that an art room is coming. Eventually I may be able to visit the creek. Karen as well Cianna are so attentive and understanding. The rest of the staff like Keith, Jeesa, Sabrina and Justin are the bomb diggity.

AdCare and ALL of their team went above and beyond to treat all of patients with dignity and respect. From the kitchen staff to the TA’s, to the nurses, counselors, case managers and house keeping. AdCare is so much more than a “recovery” program, it is a foundation for total wellness and stability. I was humbled by the bed side manner of all of the staff and their desire to come in with a smile daily and want to get to know each patient. My programming was 24 days, each group session was designed with intention and preservation of privacy. All of the meals were served 3 times a day with every food group and thoughtful touches, as if patients were at home. There is the ability to use the gym, beautiful veranda deck, participate in volley ball, yoga, acupuncture, and one on one therapy as well as family therapy. It’s all in the patients will to want to start their wellness journey, you have to make the best of it, value yourself and the others are you. The living space is a mutual space that should be respected. For my wellness and mental health journey, there are some outstanding staff that I would like to thank…who made the AdCare experience personal.
