What Our Patients Say About Us

Keep up the good work!

The program and staff at AdCare exceeded my expectations. I worked closely with Victoria and Skylar both of whom provided me with a personalized experience and launched me off into a good post treatment plan. I am very much at home with my current AA group and have some trying times without buckling to what used to be triggers. The biggest things I took away from the program was honesty in my everyday life, understanding addiction and getting to know the other patients which was highly beneficial. I always enjoy running into others I met at AdCare as well as my PHP/IOP program from when I was discharged. Keep up the good work!

you will not regret it!

In my opinion this is THE BEST detox and treatment facility in Rhode Island. From the Admissions, to the counselors, and even the nurses. Everyone makes you feel comfortable and at home while providing you with the necessary tools and coping skills needed for Recovery. You can tell the counselors, such as Jess K, Amie, Melissa and Dan, really do care. They have no problem working one on one with you, talking you through hard times, and comforting you when needed. The greatest thing about this facility is that most of the counselors and even nurses have been in recovery themselves, so they really do get it and can speak to you from personal experience! When I arrived in Detox I was in rough shape, going through Withdrawals. One of the nurses, Hope saw how bad of shape I was in and you could tell she was worried and concerned about me. I thought I was going to have a seizure but Hope gave me the necessary comfort meds to stop my shakes and tremors, and calm me down. When I got up to the residential unit I even had really good conversations with the other Nurse Haley. She was able to provide insight from experience and also recommend different meetings for me to try out. It’s just a testament to show that everyone who works here doesn’t just consider this place as their 9-5 job, they Really do care! I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants to take that difficult first step in recovery, you will not regret it!

I couldn’t be more appreciative

This facility has brought hope back into my life. I was hopeless while in active addiction, and through the help of the entire staff in Adcare, I was able to reclaim my life. Every single staff member that I encountered was genuine, sincere, and kind. They truly wanted to see me succeed, and would go out of their way to provide me with any and all services that were needed. Also, the facility was very accommodating, with a kitchen staff that made sure I was well fed. This place saved my life, and I couldn’t be more appreciative.

You may be laying in bed right now, 3am contemplating and researching different places to go to for detox. You may be apprehensive, not sure where to go or what to do. Honestly, Adcare has saved my life. I was in a dark place and they helped me to bring light back into my life. The staff were amazing and understanding, groups meaningful and helpful. If you are debating on where to go for treatment Adcare is a great choice and I highly recommend their program.

I've been in other detox facilities before. This one is top quality care. One night while trying to make it to the bathroom. My knee gave out because of a past injury. I could not walk. I managed to get to the nurse, hopping along. And this was like 2 a.m. . The nurse gave me ice packs and a couple ibuprofen. Helped me get back to my room, propped some pillows under my knee and tucked me in. In the morning I was walking again. Thanks to the nurse on third shift in the detox unit. I really appreciate the care I received. I felt like a little boy being tucked in by his mommy.

I am a lifelong drunk. From age 17 while in the Army I became a functioning alcoholic. I never wanted to stop and didnt care who knew it. At age 60 and after a dramatic chain of events, I positively felt that I would never drank again. I new the decision alone was not enough for me to just stop. I needed groundw. I ha e been here in North Kingstown Adcare for 65 days. It has and continues to be full of genuinely caring people. Not just people who perform their duties but people who become intimately involved with our lives so that we stand the best chance to remain sober. Im the type person who can see thru phony people. This place has changed my thinking process. I now have a place to live when I leave. I truly can't wait to go to my first AA meeting. This is my first and last detox/residential place I'll ever attend. Thank you Adcare for changing a hard individual to someone that I'm proud of. I have my personal angels here but I'll remain silent. I will do you proud K.

I had in patient treatment in late fall. The AD Care facility was great! It was clean, very nice & comfortable place to stay. The food is very good and the cafeteria was clean and has a great onvionce. The staff are all very friendly and address your needs with a smile. The staff tends to all your needs and go out of their way to help you. The programs are thorough. They treat you for your physical ailments you may be experiencing as well as psychological aspects of your life. It is truly a all in one treatment facility. They are definitely spot on for the treatment one may be seeking. Hats off to the great staff at AD Care RI. Thank you for all the help that you provided me. Forever Grateful. Rick A

From day one I dead against going to any inpatient treatment and for many reasons but once I realized I lost control of what I thought I handled slipped away I made the call. Things I was worried about was smoking cigarettes freely-being able to speak to my son-other people that would be here-what they feed you -and that prison type feeling of being somewhere that you can’t leave. WELL ALL I CAN SAY I WAS WRONG *You can smoke at any point other than group but if you absolutely feel the need you can just don’t be disruptive * you’re allowed to have your phone and can make whatever calls needed at any point helped pass time on your free time I suggest to stay away from social media and focus on you *food was impressive way better than to be expected and to be honest endless snacks coffee juice milk and fruit I gained 11 pounds in 2 weeks lol *groups well that changed me it went from uncomfortable and uneasy to a effin family wow if you put everything in and learn everybody around you the connection and understanding is unimaginable There are few other things offered you will be able to do during you time here but I’ll tell you one thing I did that nobody including myself would believe during this time I put myself out of my element and spoke about myself almost 30yrs of I’m fine leave me alone now turned into opening up and learning myself parts of me that was broken and hidden now feels healed I’m not that guy. And to prove that I was out of my element I did fucking yoga omg from the streets and gangs motorcycle clubs and wild parts to Yoga lmfao Ad Care literally gave me every tool to life a healthy and better life I owe everything going foward to them I’m blessed and hope the next one in can receive everything I got out of this 💯 if you had enough of alcohol or drugs the only place to go is here…
