My name is Ken and I am an alcoholic. This is my second time in residential and I was extremely nervous and embarrassed. However, from the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and supported. The staff members were just genuinely happy to see me alive, as they understand the struggles of an addict. The nurses, admissions, and counselors are incredibly compassionate and professional, creating a safe environment for recovery.
The counselors are knowledgeable and genuinely cared about my progress. My counselor and I talked about everything including the underlying problems leading to my addiction. I appreciate the personalized attention and the encouraging atmosphere that foster my healing journey.
Thanks to Adcare, I have gained the tools and confidence to help maintain my sobriety one day at a time. They set me up with an aftercare program, which I highly recommend everyone to follow up and follow through with. I wholeheartedly recommend this center to anyone struggling with addiction. I hope this review will save at least 1 life out there.
Not my first rodeo in recovery but going to make it my last Since Ive been here, it’s been filled with ups and downs. It’s not fun, it’s not meant to be. It’s challenging and the programs are set up to give you a strong foundation outside of addiction and alcoholism. I’ve met people here that I never thought I would be so close with so soon. From the patients to the staff. One bad apple doesn’t have to ruin the whole batch, there will always be people who fall through the cracks any facility you go to, but 90 % of the experience with staff has been excellent. As well as experience with patients. I’m not here for the co-patients, I’m here for me. Scott, Matteo, and Taylor all these gentlemen gave me hope and have helped immensely. My counselor Karen is a sweet heart as well as the nursing staff. Thank you AdCare. So far so good. Preparing me for the real world.
I want to say thank you to the entire Ad Care team for my 30 day stay here. From detox to residential I sincerely have no complaints. They have been very helpful in every avenue of my recovery and I couldn't have done it without them. I want to personally thank my case manager Scott for everything he has done for me and how easy he made this transition for me. I want to thank Karen my counselor for being there for me and giving me the words I needed to hear in a positive reassuring way that made sense even in my moments of delusion. The kitchen staff and all the nurses and I could name everyone but the list would be too long. Thank you Ad Care for helping me get up when I was at my lowest. I will never forget you. See you on the other side.
Love always, Ryan Darnell

Karen, what a gift you are to this place. Intelligent, outgoing, and grounded, you
bring a sense of calm and reassurance that fuels this facility. Your energy is
indispensable, and I hope to cross paths with you again in the rooms of recovery.
Brittany, you’re nothing short of extraordinary. Your kindness and spirit are
infectious. Every time you walk into the room, it’s as if a weight is lifted off
everyone’s shoulders.
Amy, your groups were engaging and impactful. You have a remarkable ability to
bring out the best in everyone who attends them. Maribeth, your loving and
nurturing approach to clients is a treasure. Your presence is exactly what this place
needs, and if the leadership here is wise, they’ll promote you to a role in the new
building currently under construction. You’ve more than earned it.
Carlyn, thank you for your professionalism and compassion during my week in
detox. You mean business, and your groups were a source of clarity and strength for
me. Taylor, you are a force of nature. Your delivery and the wisdom you share
resonate deeply with everyone fortunate enough to hear you.
Chuck, thank you for your one-on-one guidance in residential. You’ve been steadfast
in helping me carry out my treatment plan, and I am endlessly grateful.
Edmund, your humor and energy have brought so much joy to this unit. You truly
feel like one of us, and that connection is invaluable. Janet, your impeccable work as
a nurse is paired with a radiant smile and positive energy. You keep the med line
moving efficiently while ensuring everyone feels cared for. Your attentiveness has
been the subject of countless raves among clients. Lacey, I owe you a profound debt of gratitude for helping me secure admission into
the Galilee Mission. Without your diligence and support, I might not have had the
opportunity to continue my care after leaving AdCare. Thank you for going above
and beyond. Scott. Your work here is valued by all who have had the pleasure of
working with you. Thank you for making this place better just by being here.
AdCare of Rhode Island is not just a treatment center — it’s a sanctuary for hope and
healing. This place and its incredible staff have left an indelible mark on me, and I
will forever be grateful for the second chance they’ve helped me build.
